The day to day of autism
Having an Autism diagnosis is not the end of the world, but it does alter your world. You now have a whole new thing to learn about in order to meet the needs of your child, and you don't even know where to start. I had a degree in early childhood education and had worked with children for about 20 years when my child was diagnosed, but things get real when it's your child. They don't teach this stuff in books!6/02/25 7pm ET Zoom
Gentle Parenting
This has been a hot topic on social media, in magazines, and even in everyday conversations with parents with strong opinions on both sides. We're going to unpack it all. All opinions are welcomed. We want to hear all perspectives. There is no one size fits all solution to parenting. This will be an open discussion creating a space for learning, growing and effective parenting.6/09/25 7pm ET Zoom
Tv, Internet, and other influences
One of the biggest challenges to raising children who no longer look to you as the authority on everything like a 5 year old would is dealing with the outside influences that they start to look to. You're not failing as a parent. This is a normal phase. Your child is figuring out the world. Lets talk about how to navigate this without standing in the way of their normal growth and development.6/16/25 7pm ET Zoom
Bonding with foster/ adoptive children
Of course you love them to pieces from the very first day. BUT don't be surprised if their love for you has to grow over time. When I first met my children, I had envisioned this experience where they would just fall into my arms and call me mom. In reality, they barely looked at me and my feelings were a little hurt. Our time in this phase didn't last longer than about 2 visits, but for some, this phase can take a really long time. Let's unpack that.
